Low Loss Technology
The cone used in the Rubicon series draws upon the heritage from the Epicon technologies, and has a light, rigid and randomly uneven structure. This lower the complexity of the central part of the motor, ensures even piston like movements, reduces the possibility of surface resonance greatly and creates an extremely low distortion within the Rubicon series.
SMC Magnet
All variants in the Rubicon series feature woofers with the 6.5-inch wood-fibre cones and the DALI SMC (soft magnetic compound) magnet motor system which reduces distortion as never heard before. The secret is the individually coated magnet granules that make it possible to mould a a strong magnet that’s not electrically conductive.
Tweeters
The Rubicon series makes use of both the soft dome tweeter working alone, and the hybrid tweeter configuration an amazing rendering of the high frequencies. The voice coil used in the Rubicon series is designed to be very light and agile in order to achieve a broader bandwidth. This lighter voice coil is placed inside a powerful ferrite magnet that keeps a tight control of its movements.
The DALI Sound Hub
The DALI Sound Hub features an extended range of digital and analogue inputs combined with an auto source sensing system. The Sound Hub automatically activates the right input the moment you start playing music or turn on your TV – so you can just sit back and enjoy exquisite audio. The front-facing volume knob embeds an LED display, which combines Hi-Fi tradition with convenience.
BluOS Module
The first expansion module integrates Bluesound’s incredible BluOS hi-res multi-room platform. BluOS is devised by audiophiles for audiophiles to deliver the best digital sound quality imaginable throughout your house. And because BlueSound is compatible with speakers from a variety of audiophile manufacturers, it delivers flexibility, convenience and choice as well as unparalleled quality.
Wireless Audio Transfer
The wireless connection between the Sound Hub and the speakers is an extremely stable digital connection, made on either the 2.4 GHz or the 5.8 GHz band depending on location and quality of the connection. The proprietary 30 bit protocol transfers an uncompressed I2S audio signal in 24 bit 96 kHz, utilising the remaining bits to control volume, speaker ID and other control data.
